We are working exclusively with a specialist logistics company who are seeking a Business Development Executive to work within their Life Science sector.

As global lockdowns have brought countries to a virtual standstill, vital medicines and healthcare materials still have to be delivered to people in need. The entire coronavirus pandemic – from the first face mask supplies all the way to the current vaccine distribution – has highlighted the importance of a thorough supply chain in the life science industry. It can, quite literally, be the difference between life and death. 

We’re looking for a life science interested Business Development manager to join our team in the UK. The life sciences cold chain market includes pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, hospitals, laboratories, Science Parks, Universities and any other area concerned with the safe storage and shipment of temperature and environmentally sensitive products. This is where you’ll operate.  Must have the ability to work remotely with the expectation that meetings may be required to attend at the head office following lockdown measures.

What you’ll do

  • Be a vital part of the company’s success by acquiring new clients and developing existing ones
  • Investigate the life science field by contacting new and exciting clients by phone
  • Help companies send their extraordinary products to extraordinary locations by booking, executing, and following up meetings.
  • With a basic know-how of GDP, temperature loggers and TCS, uncover opportunities and understand specific client needs nationally (with a particular focus on Ireland)
  • Quote shipments, report deviations and provide improvement suggestions.

  • A real team player with a business results-oriented “can do” approach, matched with excellent sales, communication and negotiating skills
  • A relationship builder who makes an instant impression and is client focused
  • Existing solid understanding of the Life Science sector, with a curiosity to learn more
  • Ability to work and thrive in a very fast paced industry and environment.
  • Sales experience preferred but not necessary, comfortable with B2B sales and high call volumes
  • Proven track record of accomplishments that can be demonstrated upon request

Qualifications

  • Excellent computer skills & knowledge of MS office 365
  • Fluency in English
  • Driving licence required
