Business Development Manager

  • Flexible on Location: Could be home-based with offices in York & London – travel is expected

  • £35,000 DOE + Commission + Benefits

We are looking for a highly motivated and capable Business Development Manager to join our client, a highly specialised UX Consultancy based in York and London.

This role is completely flexible on a base location, with the ideal person being able to work from home when they’re not traveling. You will be expected to travel to London around 2-3 days a week – hotels and travel covered of course.

Our client helps create valuable and engaging digital products and services through user-centred, research, strategy, and design.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for new business strategy, driving new leads and managing the pipeline of new business opportunities. Other responsibilities include:

  • Help develop and shape new business strategies
  • Ability to identify and qualify opportunities
  • Identify key decision-making, influential stakeholders and build positive and persuasive relationships
  • Manage initial communications with prospective clients to uncover and qualify opportunities
  • Understand prospective clients’ challenges and/or requirements and confidently demonstrate the added value of our services both for short and long term opportunities to make us a longer-term strategic client partner
  • Delivering on performance in line with KPI's
  • Securing new client accounts
  • Maximising current relationships for long term sales growth
  • Regularly liaising with Management to report on progress
  • Attend networking events to raise business awareness
  • Oversee the coordination of inbound opportunities and manage the timely handover.

The Person:

  • A history of achievement in a sales role
  • A good understanding of UX principles
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Friendly, personable, and able to establish excellent relationships with potential/existing clients
  • Confident, out-going and friendly personality with energy, enthusiasm and a passion for solving client challenges
  • Self-motivated and able to work and manage yourself independently
  • Customer-centric: our team go above and beyond to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Experience with Hubspot is preferred but not essential.
  • Full clean driving licence with a car is essential.

An understanding of the UX and the digital landscape along with previous agency/consultancy experience is highly desirable.
