Graduate Software Engineer

For the first 6 months, there is a requirement to be trained at the offices in Royal Wotton Bassett fully expensed. The role is however for Leeds and will be permanently located in Leeds City Centre.

Interviews will be held in Royal Wootton Bassett and travelling expenses will be reimbursed.

Role Summary

You will be a key member of a growing team of software engineers dedicated to the development and implementation of a sophisticated customer design/development tool.

The aim of which is to enable our client’s unique touch technology to be seamlessly integrated into our customers’ existing workflows, enabling our customers to address a wide range of products.

It will be your responsibility to ensure that the SW developed is designed and tested to the highest standards, as well as being clearly documented ready for use by customers. You will also assist in the development of internal tools, demonstration applications, and test harnesses and systems.

This role will be well suited to an engineer that is looking to become part of a dynamic and challenging environment in which they can grow and flourish, given the great career potential that comes from being an early member of a rapidly growing start-up team. As well as this the candidate can also expect professional exposure to the full development lifecycle of a product, from initial concept/architecture, to end-products & services.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in the design and implementation of Software Development Tools and Kits, based upon industry-standard CAD platforms, for use by customers, to enable the integration of our technology into both their existing & future design workflows, enabling the adaptation of current product lines or the creation of new ones.
  • Work effectively with the Engineering Team to create test harnesses and systems for the verification of modules and system-level solutions.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Team to define and control development libraries for use by customers as part of their system integration.
  • Communicate effectively with team members both orally and through written communication.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors/Masters in a relevant Computer Science based engineering degree.
  • A good understanding of object-oriented system development preferably using either one or more of the following, C++, C#, Java or Python

Desirable Knowledge/Experience of, or interest in:

  • .NET, Linux, Android
  • Graphics Libraries: OpenGL, Unity, DirectX, Vulkan etc.
  • Desktop Application Development
  • UI & UX design
  • Test Harnesses and Systems development
  • Source and version control tools
  • Real-Time embedded development

Personal Qualities:

  • The successful candidate must be a committed team-player but also possess the ability to work autonomously.
  • They must be self-motivated, enthusiastic and ready to take on a demanding challenge, and have the perseverance to see each project through to successful completion.
  • They must also be comfortable to work as part of a small team against challenging deadlines.
