Sales Team Manager

We are excited to be working with a friendly, fast-growing company to find a Sales Team Manager.

Our client specialises in producing user-friendly communications through good information design. Testing them with real people to make sure the information meets their needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching, tendering and managing the sales phase of a range of projects.
  • Reporting to CEO
  • Supervising: Senior Manager - Business Development and Sales Manager.

Project Tenders

  • Liaising with the client to ascertain objectives
  • Researching and devising a suitable outline protocol to achieve objectives
  • Cost the delivery of the project
  • Writing proposals for clients in a timely and accurate manner

Client Liaison / Account Management

  • Liaising with prospective clients to ensure the proposal meets their expectations
  • Following up on a regular basis on ‘open’ proposals with clients
  • Maintaining up to date records in CMS/sales software

Project Management

  • Where required, managing projects to ensure they are delivered in a timely and accurate manner

Resources:

  • Operating Budget: Sales and marketing budgetary control
  • Other measurable factors e.g. control of other resources: Variable, based on projects

Regulatory

  • Keeping up to date with changes in legislation or guidelines that are relevant to the company’s areas of operation

Business Development

  • Spotting market opportunities for new clients
  • Identifying business development and cross-selling opportunities from within the Company’s existing client base
  • Identifying potential work opportunities from outside the Company’s client base
  • Representing the Company at sales events and conferences, acting as a spokesperson for the company

Education & Training:

  • Identifying your own training needs and actively seek novel opportunities to meet training needs
  • Attending and participating in external events
  • Maintaining a portfolio of practice

The Ideal Person:

The successful person will need to ensure sales targets are hit, working collaboratively with the Operations Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time.

Essential:

  • Proven track record in project management
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Client relationship management experience
  • Personal integrity of honesty, openness, and consistency
  • Professional, diplomatic and enthusiastic
  • Computer literate with Outlook, word processing, MS Project and/or spreadsheet experience i.e. Microsoft Office applications

Desirable:

  • Educated to degree level, ideally life sciences.
  • Experience in, or exposure to pharmaceutical regulatory affairs or medical information
  • Experience in consumer information, medical writing, or communications agency background
  • Experience in research
