Senior Project Manager - Digital

  • Leeds City Centre

  • Competitive Salary

We're looking for a great Senior Digital Project Manager to join a digital transformation business, specialising in web and Drupal. Joining an enthusiastic team, working on award-winning projects for various big-name clients.

The Project Manager will work within multidisciplinary project teams, run according to the company’s agile-influenced methodology.

Our client believes in using the power of the web to make the world a better, more interesting place. They encourage honesty, transparency, pragmatism, and collaboration. They regularly re-evaluate how they work, based on feedback from clients and their team.

Key Responsibilities:

The role combines project, production and client management:

  • Leading the team, empowering them to do their best work and engaging with both the big picture and the details
  • Emphasising user experience, placing the needs of the user at the forefront and being empathetic to the client’s needs and concerns

Project Management

  • Leading the team in creating and iterating a project roadmap that is continuously kept up to date
  • Facilitating ongoing assessment and iteration of the work and helping to detect problems and opportunities early on

Finance management and project accounting

  • Running project tracking and internal reporting processes
  • Using data and client/team input to make collective decisions about priority and effort

Communication, teamwork and client management

  • Facilitating the communication between and within internal and client teams and stakeholders
  • Focusing both on the immediate project, and the client’s wider and longer-term concerns and priorities, in order to create more opportunities to work with them on new projects

Technical understanding and user experience planning

  • Understanding and explaining to the team and the client why something should be done, as well as how it’s achieved technically and creatively
  • Leading the team to validate and iterate user experience design during all stages of the project process

The Person:

  • At least 5 years of project management experience
  • Experience delivering UX-focused digital web projects
  • Working with budgets around £50k-300k
  • Full of creative ideas and love engaging with people, be that your team or a client
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • It's desirable but not essential that you have a development background so you can hold your own in technical conversations, suggesting new approaches to problems and helping the team get the most out of each other's skills

Our client takes their culture seriously and works to the following principles:

  • The atmosphere here is lively with discussion and debate. Everyone should feel like their voice is valued and heard in these discussions.
  • We make time to help each other, explaining why we are doing something in a certain way, with an understanding that what we are talking about may be outside of the other person’s understanding.
  • We work hard and take what we do seriously. Our clients depend on us to make what they do work. The more they trust us, the more they rely on us, and the more we will work with them.
  • We all make mistakes and admit to them. For this to happen, we all need to accept each other’s mistakes and be supportive rather than blaming them. We focus on what we each need to improve and think of ways that will stop the same mistake in the future, sharing this openly so we can all learn from each other.
  • We all strive to be as good as we possibly can be and take responsibility for our own development. In turn, we will support you and provide as much time and resource to your development as we are able to.
  • We have fun, socialise and make time to do things together because we enjoy it.
